Target archery has been a Paralympic sport for more than 30 years and uses the same competition and scoring protocol as utilised in the Olympic games. With help from ‘Living Sport’ and the ‘Sportivate project’ we have been able to start offering Archery tasters to Visually Impaired people. We have some dedicated Archery Leaders on hand to help the participants to find a way of shooting that works for them, including Visually Impaired archer Peter Price. Everyone is different so the equipment and shooting techniques can be adapted to bring the best out of everyone.
If you are interested but not sure if you will be suited to Archery, we suggest giving it a try as no one will know what can be achieved until they actually shoot some arrows. You are welcome to bring your own guide to help you to and from the shooting areas if you prefer. If there is space, your guide can also have a go themselves!
