Would you like to know more about technology? Have you some IT skills that you can share with others? Today’s technology is moving at a rapid pace and can be a real challenge to get to grips with, especially for those of us who are blind and partially sighted. Thanks to funding from the Peoples Health Trust, our members requested a technology group, where they could meet to learn about new technology, decide which equipment they should buy, or get help with existing products.

Essentially this is a self help group (we have a wealth of knowledge within the group which we can use to help one another) but we are in discussions with an expert who may be able to run the group permanently. We also invite other organisations to join us like the Guide Dogs Association, who recently bought along their own technology experts.

Technology can enhance the life of anyone and accessibility features make it easier for people with sight problems to use these products. The group usually meets on the first Monday of the month at Peterborough Central Library in the Hartley Room.
