Nystagmus is a condition thought to affect 1 in every 1000 people and it is estimated that around 60,000 people in the UK have it. It is a continuous, uncontrolled ‘to and fro’ movement of the eyes and most people with nystagmus have reduced vision. The Nystagmus Network (NN) is leading a campaign to raise awareness of the eye condition and has created an annual event – ‘Wobbly Wednesday’. This year Wobbly Wednesday is on the 4th November and Blackpool Tower will be lit up in blue to kick start the campaign.
“We’re really excited about having Blackpool Tower turning blue for Wobbly Wednesday again this year. Having such an iconic landmark on board will give great encouragement to our supporters. We are asking everybody to organise fun events on Wobbly Wednesday and to do whatever they can to raise awareness of nystagmus.” Richard Wilson, Chairman of Nystagmus Network
NN is the UK’s leading charity for nystagmus it provides support and information as well as encouraging and funding research and raising awareness of the condition. Click here for more information about Nystagmus Network, or contact them using the details below:
