This year, Sainsbury’s supermarket in Bretton selected Peterborough Association for the Blind as their charity of the year! They will support us for 12 months – raising awareness about the charity and through fundraising.
Our latest joint event was a Quiz Night which will took place on Sunday the 19th October at 7pm in at the Sainsbury’s store in Bretton. Sainsbury’s organiser Donna said she was surprised at how many people attended and it was unprecedented for an event like this!
The quiz is took place in the public restaurant on the ground floor and the evening had a Halloween theme with some of the questions centred around the festival. Each team was made up of 6 people and the cost was just £1 per person with all proceeds going to the PAB. Staff had made Halloween cakes which we all enjoyed and Sainsbury’s kindly provided lots of free nibbles. There was also a raffle and prizes were generously given by Sainsbury’s staff and the company. Sainsbury’s also donated prizes to the three highest scoring teams.
As well as giving our members a fun evening out, we also raised £160 for the charity so we would like to say a huge thank you to Sainsbury’s for hosting the event and providing the prizes, to Donna from Sainsbury’s for helping us organise it and to all the staff who attended and donated raffle prizes.
