BT’s 195 directory enquiries service is free for anyone who isn’t able to read or hold a telephone directory, due to illness or disability. You can use this service even if  BT is not your telephone company.

Once you have successfully signed up to the service, all you do is dial 195 and you can speak to an operator who will find the number you require. If you ask to be connected to that number, you will then be charged for the call you make according to the call package that you have with your provider.

You can apply for this free service by calling 0800 587 0195 between 9am and 4:30pm – Monday to Friday, to request an application form.  The form will need to be countersigned by a medical professional who knows the applicant – such as a doctor, nurse or other medical practitioner.
