As some of you may know, we hosted a consultation with other local sensory support organisations in Peterborough to listen to feedback from service users on a range of issues such as support at the Eye Clinic and support from the Council and Rehabilitation Officer.

This consultation was held in response to growing concerns around lack of services and referral pathways for people newly diagnosed and living with sight loss in Peterborough.

32 local service users participated in the consultation which was facilitated by staff from the England Vision Strategy, RNIB, Peterborough Association for the Blind, Guide Dogs, Deafblind UK, the Macular Society and Peterborough City Council.

All responses from the 6 discussion groups have been collated, along with testimonials, and deliberately left in tact to give a sense of the consensus and scale of opinion.

The full report can be downloaded in the attachment below.

An employee at the council has told us of the shock experienced by those involved with Adult Social Care at the report, and a meeting is being arranged at the council to discuss the findings.  We will share more information as and when we have it.
