On Monday the 6th of July the PAB’s summer outing was to the beautiful seaside resort of Hunstanton on Norfolk’s superb coastline. The trip was subsidised by a very generous donation we received from the Peterborough Rotary club, who gave us £700 from the money raised at last year’s Firework Fiesta.

The coach left Westgate just after 10am and arrived in Hunstanton at 11.30. After some light refreshments it was time to start exploring and enjoying the seaside atmosphere. It was a warm day but with quite a scattering of cloud cover – perfect for spending the day outside!  Some people headed for the town while others took to the beach and a few to the land train which takes visitors to the Lighthouse and back again.

We had a lovely day out in Hunstanton. We started with a picnic on the green and then enjoyed exploring the town and strolling along the seafront. After a hot chocolate in a tea room, we went down memory lane and played on the 2p machines in the pier amusements! I really enjoyed myself and wish we could have stayed longer. We were accompanied by quite a few guide dogs this year and after expertly guiding their owners around for the afternoon, they were allowed to run free on the beach, heading straight for the sea! It was lovely to see them splashing around and running back and forth in the surf – lots of tired, soggy but happy dogs when it was time to go! Special thanks to the Rotary club for part funding the event and for their loyal support to our charity over the years. We were pleased to hear that you all had a good time and if you have suggestions on where to go next year, please get in touch!
