At Peterborough Association for the Blind, we are trying to increase the number of activities and events that we run for local blind and partially sighted people. We desperately need more volunteers to help us achieve this – like Norma (far right) and Lin (4th from left) who helped guide our cinema group on a recent outing to see ‘A Street Cat Called Bob’. They also got to see the film for free!
We welcome volunteers who can commit to a few hours a month, or just occasionally when they have some spare time. No experience is necessary as we provide some fun and informative training that only takes a few hours. Everyone has a skill we can use – whether you are a good listener, have a caring personality or are a keen sports person – we will have a role for you! It is also a great way to make new friends and enhance your social life!
