On Sunday 3rd May, the sun was shining for the PAB’s bag pack and fun day at Sainsburys in Bretton. This was our last event with them after becoming their charity of the year back in July 2014. We have loved working with Sainsburys over the last 12 months and would like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff for giving up their free time to help us fundraise and promote our charity.

We had a really successful day and raised an incredible £900, so a big thank you to all the volunteers who made it happen and to all the Sainsburys customers who donated to our charity. We wouldn’t be able to support the hundreds of people we do without your support!

Our Tombola organised and run by Lesley and Marion was another huge success thanks the 80 prizes which were donated from members and volunteers. The highlight of the day had to be the look on the face of Keira and her brother Jordan who won the teddy they desperately wanted (after a quick swap of the numbers!). The guess the name of the teddy put together by Sylvie and Fred was also a popular draw and was won by Lisia who guessed his name was Arnie. Lisia’s grandson is now the proud owner of Arnie! “A big thank you to all our hardworking volunteers who gave up their time to help us raise money throughout the day. Also a big thank you to both Sainsbury staff who made us welcome and their customers who kindly gave us some of their hard earned money to help our members. It was another wonderful day and we have enjoyed chatting to shoppers about our charity. I had some good feedback from the staff who commented on how our volunteers cheered up their day, so thanks to Hannah, all the Wildman gang, Kay, Carol, the Robinson family, Wendy (who had been sunning herself in windy Pembrokeshire until she got the call to help!) and our new volunteer bagpackers – Steve, Nina and Ethan, Jamal, Sarah, Laila and Ronnie. You all did a Stirling job!” Norma Wildman, PAB Fundraiser
