The sixth annual National Eye Health Week (NEHW) will take place between 21 – 27 September 2015. Once again, eye care charities, organisations and health professionals from across the UK are joining together to promote the importance of eye health and the need for regular sight tests for all. Click here for more information on National Eye Health Week.
To raise awareness locally, PAB has been invited by Sainsbury’s in Bretton to spend 3 days in store promoting eye health and providing information on sight loss. As many of you will know, we won the public vote to become Sainsbury’s charity of the year and this is our first event with them. We will be at the store on Friday the 25th September until Sunday the 27th September, so come and say hello if you are passing. If you have never talked to us about the work we do or volunteering roles we have – why not chat to us and see if its something you might like to get involved in.
Friday 25th September:
Raising Awareness in the Foyer – We will have an information stand in the foyer with take away leaflets and simulation specs for people to try on and experience what life could be like living with different eye conditions. There will also be a living aids display to showcase some of the gadgets that can improve the life of blind or partially sighted people. We will also be launching our colouring in competition with some fantastic ‘Minions’ prizes donated by Sainsbury’s. We will be on hand to chat about our services or offer advice, so call in and see us!
Saturday 26th September:
Bag Pack – Our volunteers will be packing bags on the tills to raise money for the charity. We will also be on hand to talk to anyone about eye related conditions or concerns .
Sunday 27th September:
Tombola – We will hold another one of our popular tombola’s with some more prizes donated by Sainsbury’s. There will also be another chance to enter our colouring competition.
Please help us to spread the word about our event and as usual, we would love to see you all for a chat.
