Volunteer Coordinator Peterborough

£21,164 pa pro rata
Peterborough Association for the Blind is a small local charity working with trained volunteers to support people with serious sight problems through a mixture of social and sporting events.
The recent introduction of many new activities and a Befriending Scheme means that we have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator with the right skills, empathy and experience to help us take our work forward. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have experience in recruiting, training and retaining volunteers.
The main duties will be:
- To recruit, support and offer training to volunteers to support our service delivery and expansion
- To coordinate the PAB Befriending Project, matching volunteers with clients and supporting home visiting volunteers.
- Manage and coordinate volunteers, and ensure their training needs are met
- To ensure PAB’s staff, trustees, and volunteers are kept aware of good practice in volunteering and of any changes in legislation that might impact on volunteering
