Over the past five years, local Sainsbury’s stores have partnered with local charities and raised over £6 million. During June, customers vote for one of three specially selected charities and the winner is then supported by the store over the next 12 months through fundraising and volunteering.
PAB has been shortlisted and is now competing against 2 other charities in a public vote. Becoming Sainsburys charity of the year will mean we can fundraise in store which could generate over £4,000! This would allow PAB to provide information packs to people who are newly diagnosed with sight loss, providing support, information, and guidance to local blind and partially sighted people and their families.
Two ways to vote
1) On line: Click here to visit the Sainsburys Local Charity website. Enter your own post code and press ‘find store’. Select the Bretton store and then scroll down to see the 3 charities you can vote for. In the white Peterborough Association for the Blind box, click the ‘Vote for this charity’ button. You will see a big orange message reading ‘Thank you for your vote for Peterborough Association for the Blind’.
2) In Store: You can cast your vote in the foyer at Sainsburys in Bretton. Ask for a voting token at the checkout and drop the token into the PAB voting box.
PAB needs your help to spread the word! Please spread the word to friends and family and ask them to vote for the PAB (you do not need to live in Peterborough so anyone can vote on line!) If you are a Facebook user, please click here to visit our page and share the Sainsburys post with friends.
