Our walking group has been going strong since we launched it a year ago (Thanks to funding from the Peoples Health Trust). It’s a great way to socialise and get some exercise at the same time! All walks are assessed in advance to make sure they are suitable for our members and guide dogs. Our latest was a country walk – a 2 mile walk form Ashton to Ufford.
The weather was perfect when the 17 walkers and 4 dogs set off from PAB committee member Martin’s house. It was a beautiful walk down lanes and footpaths across the fields. The oldest walker was Jim Sexton who is 94!
When we arrived in Ufford, we had a light lunch at The White Heart Village Inn. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, making sure the dogs had water and our lunch arrived on time. The food was delicious too!
Taxis were provided for anyone who didn’t fancy the walk home, but for those that did, we were treated to tea and biscuits in Martin and Susie’s garden – The perfect end to a lovely day. Click here to see more pictures of the day in the gallery page.
