Virtual coffee morning

Our virtual coffee morning took place on Wednesday 14th October and was a great success!  As usual with our coffee mornings we give PAB updates, information and enjoyed a lovely chat and catch up with our members, we even relaunched the PAB 200 Club draw.

The 200 club draw will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, with notification of winners going into the PAB newsletter and on the PAB website.

The quiz was brilliant and in the comfort of our own homes. The only difference being that as this was virtual we all joined with our own cuppa and biscuits.  Due to the success of the Virtual Coffee Morning we are in the process of organising this as a regular virtual activity and as soon as it is organised we will let you all know.  We use Zoom for our virtual activities, which is accessible to all including those who only use a landline. Please contact Jacqui on 01733 344 844 if you would like more information.

PAB are now offering virtual activities for members

At PAB we have been working hard to find new ways of bringing activities to you. We will be offering a virtual get together with quizzes and discussion topics and possibly a book club. The plan is to use Zoom which some of you may already be familiar with but don’t worry if not as we will set up support to get you up and running. As time moves on we are hoping to offer socially distanced delivery of craft and baking boxes with online support and as rules relax it would be lovely to have a few small and very localised get together even if we still have to socially distance at least we can chat.

Our first virtual quiz took place on Tuesday 30th June and was a great success, although new to everyone who took part we still had lots of fun and it was wonderful to chat to our lovely members once again.

There is still time to get in touch and receive a craft box, register to join the new men’s group or Tech group or any other new activity PAB are offering including quizzing, learning to draw, photography, gossip hour, learning Braille, reading and audiobooks.  If you are interested then please contact Jacqui at or telephone 01733 344 844, leaving your name and contact number with a short message.

Free training and help are available if you are not familiar with using Zoom or you can join in the fun using your telephone or mobile.

PAB are also happy to announce that the Tech group will be holding monthly Zoom meetings on the first Monday of each month at 2 pm.

If you are interested in joining in at the Tech group or any of the activities we hope to try in the coming months then please contact Jacqui, our activities coordinator by calling the office on 01733 344844 and leave a clear message with your name and contact number or by email at and Jacqui will get back to you.

We will need to know what you are interested in and will also ask what technology you will use, do still get in touch even if you only have a landline as we are able to include you in our activities. We will support you to access the help you need getting set up and will then invite you to our next virtual get together.

Remember this is new and challenging for all of us but let’s come together, reach out to each other, be adventurous and find some fun in our virtual community.

Social distancing rules are carried out at all times, we are happy to discuss this with you if you have any concerns.

We look forward to hearing from you all.

Each box is full of everything you would need to make a wonderful item and comes complete with full instructions.
