Peterborough Sight
About us
Peterborough Association for the Blind (PAB) was formed in 1970 to enrich the lives of people with sight loss by providing services, amenities, and social help to people who are blind and visually impaired in Peterborough.
In 2020 PAB registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and changed its name to Peterborough Sight. It’s objectives and mission remained the same.
Today Peterborough Sight is no longer a Charitable Incorporated Organisation but is a friendly peer support group for people in the local area who have significant sight loss.
We have opportunities to meet, talk and join in with activities like walking, swimming or even craftwork or sailing. We can also put you in touch with professional organisations who can support you further. By being there for each other you don’t have to be alone and our sight loss journeys become easier.
Every month we have group visits to places of interest, as well as the regular coffee mornings which take place the second Wednesday of each month at Westgate New Church Hall near the bus station between 10 and 12:00. Sometimes there will be a speaker or activity and sometimes we will just chat together and enjoy a quiz or raffle.
We have a range of regular activities and we always welcome newcomers! Out activities include bowls, ten pin bowling, sailing, craft, eating out, yoga, dance, swimming and learning braille. We are always interesting in trying new activities too so please do tell us about your favourites!
